Psychonauts 2 : upcoming 2020

Psychonauts 2 is a forthcoming Double Fine platform video game published by Xbox Game Studios. The game is scheduled to be published in 2020 and announced at the 2015 Game Awards ceremony. Double Fine and Game Manager Tim Schafer shared the will to create a psychonauts sequel, but a significant offer to develop the game avoided. Following strong sales across different outlets and a strong demand for the original game, Double Fine tried to acquire some of its financial resources to fund the Psychonauts 2 production through a 3.3 million USD turnaround and acquisition push.

Psychonauts, released in 2005, was Double Fine's first title as a studio. The title was highly praised, but considered a commercial failure by criticism of his characters and writing. Fans have urged Tim Schafer, CEO of Double Fine and the main creative leader of the game, to develop a sequel to the name, which game journalists frequently consider on the list of games that need to be sequenceed.
