It was first released in Japan on the Super Famicom platform on 11 November 1995, and on 21 September 2010 on the Japanese Virtual Console it was released on Wii and on 26 February 2014, on Wii U.  Sixth Square for the Japanese Super Famicom System in a SaGa function replay video game series. On April 11, 2017, Akitoshi Kawazu confirmed to focus on an English update, after it's released in Japan, that it would be remastered for the iPhone, Android and PlayStation Vita.

The Age of Morastrum once every 300 years— an occurrence where the dark star cuts out our light— challenges the planet itself. Anyone born that year will die before the end of the year. Nobody has a chance of survival, whether man or beast. But it came when a single baby survived. The force of death entranced him, he used it to take over the world. The Archfiend came to be known. It has been almost twenty years since the Morastrum rose, and 300 years since the Matriarch emerged. Mankind is now at the root of promise and despair.

The player selects the lead from eight characters when the game begins; new characters can be identified and hired during the whole match at the player's table. The gameplay is identical to other RPGs in the Arcade, but it is different. For eg, character numbers increase independently based on your involvement in the fight instead of "step ups." In addition, a character has some' LP' that decreases when the HP of the character is less than zero, or when its HP stays at zero.

    
During the fight, protagonists may learn new tactics "spark" which are often used to facilitate the battle. It is also necessary to avoid other enemies. There is also a Commander style, where the leading character on the backlines of the fight requires at least one level more than the head player. In a team, fewer than 6, the player has the choice of using one person for smaller preparation a four-person unit of five parties to lead their main character into Commander mode. Strategies involving multiple behaviors can also be acquired during Commander mode, depending on their configuration. Depending on their structure.
